Tropicana Line’s Sales Plunge 20% Post-Rebranding

Tropicana’s rebranding debacle did more than create a customer-relations fiasco. It hit the brand in the wallet. After its package redesign, sales of the Tropicana Pure Premium line plummeted 20% between Jan. 1 and Feb. 22, costing the brand tens of millions of dollars. On Feb. 23, the company announced it would bow to consumer demand and scrap the new packaging, it had been out on the market  for about 2 months.

by sandman

Kevin Rose announced his latest Digg Dialog interview, with ‘Burno’. He corrects it later in the same tweet, but its quite a bad mistake when promoting not only your site, but also promoting a movie.

Zany Advertising Characters from the 80’s

by b0w1e

No, it’s not a sales flyer for Spencer Gifts - it’s those
trend-setting product icons that watched over our shoulder as we
gobbled our way to the high score on PacMan.  Remember Max Headroom’s guest appearance on David Letterman?  What about the rumor that a real life guy with the last name of Noid got so upset about being avoided that he went on a killing spree?  Oh, good times, gooood times.  Now excuse me while I go dance to my motion sensitive singing raisins..!

Hugely popular BitTorrent tracking site The Pirate Bay has been sold to Global Gaming Factory, according to TorrentFreak. With the sale finalized, apparently they will be shutting down the torrent tracker altogether.

The music and movie industries must be doing the jig today.

The site will begin to decentralize itself, where torrent files will not be hosted on Pirate Bay’s servers which according them will keep the service going.
