Patrick Swayze has died after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. The 57-year-old “Dirty Dancing” actor died Monday with family at his side. He came forward about his illness last spring, but continued working as he underwent treatments.
It was 1987 when Swayze became a star with his performance in “Dirty Dancing,” a coming-of-age story set in a Catskills resort. The 1990 film “Ghost” cemented his status as a screen favorite.
2009 MTV video awards highlights and moments that made the night.
Repeat host Russell Brand goes from overly offensive to utterly boring.

Lady Gaga gets gory on stage
Eminem and Tracy Morgan team up for a much needed shot of hilarity
Kanye West steals the mike…and Taylor Swift’s thunder – The event of the night went like this: As per usual, Taylor Swift was shocked, humble and gracious during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video saying she had “always dreamed” of what it would be like to win a moonman. Unfortunately, West was equally shocked and grabbed the mike to declare his vote for Beyonce. There were no winners here as Swift looked ready to cry, Beyonce looked horribly embarrassed and West looked like a big fat jerk. Making the moment even worse was that producers cut Swift off from finishing her speech once West left the stage.
Beyoncé keeps it classy
In the end, Kanye West went home happy as Beyoncé took the award for video of the year for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).” However, it was Beyoncé who stole the show this time around by inviting Taylor Swift onto the stage to belatedly finish her West-captured acceptance speech.

Maybe Dan Akroyd put it best. When explaining why there wouldn’t be a
Ghostbusters 3 – it was largley because Murray wouldn’t commit to it.
“Bill marches to his own drummer.” And that march is definitely
peculiar. At times stupidly funny (Cadyshack), brilliantly funny
(Rushmore), or downright Oscar-caliber serious (Lost in Translation),
Murray has succeeded where his peers Akroyd and Chevy Chase have
failed – he’s stood the test of time, taking on roles that are
probably just as challenging for him to be in – as they are for us to watch.
Hold Me Closer Tony Danza: is a phrase people use when true stupidity shows. This is also used in the words to an Elton John song “hold me closer tony danza” instead of “hold me closer tiny dancer” and now this phrase can be used to mock your friend’s true stupidity at any moment in time. After your friends say something stupid you just say “Oh my god, hold me closer tony danza”
Not quite Rickrolling from Rick Astley, but another interesting use of Celebrities from the past! Check out the getting Tony Danza’d on Urban Dictionary

Twenty years after it all began, the cast of Saved By The Bell has reunited on the pages of the new issue of PEOPLE Magazine. When the cast of “Saved by the Bell” assembled for this week’s PEOPLE photo shoot and cover story, everyone breathed a sigh of relief-including Mario Lopez, who nearly missed the whole thing.
Dustin Diamond who played the loveable, but nerdy “Screech” on the late 80s/early 90s Saturday morning sitcom Saved by the Bell wasn’t invited to a recent cast reunion photo shoot for the cover of this week’s People magazine.
